Samsung is leaving no stone unturned to fill every segment with it’s impressive smartphones. In the last couple of years, the Company has launched several smartphones under every price range to give sleepless nights to it’s competitors. Knowing the fact that the mid-range mobiles market has become very popular, the South Korean company has recently unveiled it’s yet another powerful mid-ranger F22. After the huge success of F41, the brand is all set to turn up the heat with it’s brand new F22 smartphone. It is an affordable device that comes under Rs 15000 in India.
With the launch of the F22, Samsung has made it very clear that it knows how to design a perfect mid-range smartphone without going wrong. Seeing the rising competition, Samsung has tried to tick all the boxes.
Let’s quickly have an in-depth look at it’s design, display, camera, specifications, performance, battery life, and all other important aspects.

- It offers a 6.44 inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
- It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor.
- The phone comes in two variants, 4/64 and 6/128.

Design & Display
The Samsung F22 comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that has a 90Hz refresh rate and a water-drop notch at the top. Despite having an HD+ display it offers vibrant colours. The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen doesn’t pick fingerprints and scratches easily. The SIM tray is on the left, fingerprint scanner is integrated into the power button to give users easy access. The phone comes with a beloved 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port for fast charging, and a speaker grill right at the bottom. The back of the phone is designed with poly carbonated plastic with a textured finish that doesn’t give fingerprint smudges easily.
The best part is that the brand has given Super AMOLED display in the budget phone that offers an excellent viewing experience. Users can find clarity from all the angles along with impressive brightness levels. In fact, ardent gamers can also enjoy an immersive gaming experience with the best graphics. However, they have to set the graphics settings to an average to enjoy a lag-free mobile gaming experience.
Performance
The Samsung F22 is powered by a much-used processor MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. It’s not a bad processor, but it doesn’t deliver flawless performance to heavy gamers and power users. The processor also heats up and shows some lags on high usage. The ardent gamers can play games flawlessly but only at medium graphics settings.
For day-to-day tasks, the phone doesn’t show any kind of lag. You can record videos, take pictures, and make video calls without facing any lag. However, the experience while navigating its UI is not very smooth. But, it’s not even bad. Hence, it’s an average performer as compared to the phones under this price range. You can’t expect high-end performance from the F22 at this price point.
The biggest loophole is the usage of slower EMMc 5.1 storage compared to its rivals using UFS2.1 or 2.2. The whole problem with this storage type is that it takes more time to install and run apps.
Also, the phone comes with Android 11 out of the box along with Samsung’s One UI Core 3.1 that offers a pretty tidy user interface. Yes, the phone comes with some pre-installed applications, but users can delete most of them easily.
Camera
Despite being a mid-range device, F22 offers an impressive camera module at the back and rear. The main rear camera comes with a true 48MP snapper that is capable of taking a good amount of details in daylight as well as a lowlight. Along with that, you can find out 8MP ultra-wide camera that can capture many things in the background, a 2MP depth camera and the macro camera also do a decent job. In fact, the video recording is also quite decent.
On the front, F22 offers a 13MP selfie camera that does a decent job in taking true skin tones and depth.
Overall, there is no lag in the shutter button and one can take group pictures with furry friends. Even in moderate or uneven lighting, the phone does a decent job of taking good details. However, you can’t expect a flagship camera performance from the phone under this price range.
Battery
The powerful battery backup is the key highlight of this phone. According to Samsung, the battery is going to last for 2 days for moderate users. It is powered by a 6000mAh battery that also supports 25W charging. However, the phone comes with a 15W charger. After using Samsung’s other midrange smartphones with a 6000mAh battery, we can say that it lasts for around 2 days for moderate users. It’s really hard to beat Samsung in the battery department. Most of it’s devices offer a solid battery life of around 2 days.
Verdict
With F22 Samsung has tried to give a Super AMOLED phone to budget smartphone seekers. It is the major USP of the device followed by a powerful battery backup. In fact, all other specifications are decent as per the price range.
If you are someone who is looking for a quality midrange smartphone for day-to-day tasks such as social media posts, shopping, sending emails, streaming YouTube and other channels, taking pictures with friends, and playing some games then this device is meant for you. However, if you want a high-end performer with professional needs then you should look up to the brand’s flagship range of devices. It is a reliable, affordable, and decent smartphone for the midrange segment to offer a decent performance across all main areas without burning a hole in your pocket.
